PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device, a control method, and a program with which it is possible to improve the freedom of the shape of a detection area and realize increased sensitivity.SOLUTION: The input device comprises: a sensor unit 200 having a plurality of detection parts 260, each generating a composite detection signal corresponding to the sum of a group of detection signals, and capable of controlling the positive and negative polarities of the detection signal at an individual detection position 230; a control unit 310 for generating a group of composite detection signals consisting of composite detection signals the polarity patterns of which are differentiated from each other; and a signal reproduction unit 320 for reproducing the signal levels of the group of composite detection signals on the basis of the group of composite detection signals and a group of polarity patterns. At least some of the plurality of detection parts 260 are differentiated in the number of detection positions 235 from each other, and the control unit 310 selects a group of polarity patterns in accordance with the number of detection positions 230 so that the number of positive polarities and the number of negative polarities included in the respective polarity patterns closely resemble.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
