<p>A keyboard (10) for an electronic data processor has incorporated in it a reader (40) for cheques or other documents, said reader being housed on a printed circuit board (42), or a frame of the said keyboard, which is already used for housing the circuits of the itself keyboard (10). This reader is formed by providing a slot (24) in a area of the casing (12) of the keyboard (10) which can be easily accessed (for example at the top of the casing), where said slot starts from one side of the keyboard (10) and ends in a compartment or storage space (32) provided with a support surface (66) onto which the cheques (26) read by the reader (40) fall and are stacked, stacking of the cheques occurring after each cheque expelled from the slot (24) falls, guided by an inclined profile (68), so as to be positioned on the support surface (66) of the compartment (32). A printed circuit board (42), or the frame, has mounted on it, in an area located underneath the slot (24), means (44) for moving the cheques, the means consisting of a first row (46a, 46'a, 46b, 46c) of rollers driven by drive means, such as a belt (48), one of which is moved by motor means (50) actuated when a cheque is entered into the slot (24), and means for reading the cheque consisting of a magnetizing head (60) and a reading head (62).
