PURPOSE:To provide an overcoating transfer sheet for obtaining a recording sheet having a glossy or matte overcoating layer which has excellent image quality and excellent chemical resistance. CONSTITUTION:An overcoating transfer sheet 3 comprises an overcoating layer containing thermoplastic resin and binder as main ingredients in such a manner that a melting point of composition of the layer is lower than a softening point of a heat resistant sheet 1, and a transfer layer 2 containing composition and provided on a surface of the sheet 1. A method for overcoating comprises the steps of superposing the layer 3 of the sheet 3 on a recording surface of a recording sheet 8 in which a recording image is recorded on a material to be recorded, and thermally press injecting it to transfer the layer to be transferred to a recording surface. Thus, glare of the image and irregular gloss are eliminated by an operation of the overcoating layer provided by transferring to provide the sheet 8 having excellent chemical resistance and weather resistance. |
