PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a middle range density by providing the composite film laminated to at least one surface of a support on the base of a thermal recording element and forming the composite film from a thermoplastic core layer having fine voids and at least one thermoplastic surface layer substantially having no voids. SOLUTION: Especially, in a recording element of which the support is a fine void composite film used in a thermal transfer system for obtaining a print from the image of a color video camera, a thermal recording layer containing a coloring matter precursor is applied to a base to form a thermal recording element. The base contains the composite film laminated on at least one surface of a support and the thermal recording layer is provided on the side of the composite film. The composite film is formed from a thermoplastic core layer having fine voids and at least one thermoplastic surface layer substantially having no voids. By this constitution, a direct thermal recording element improved in middle range density is obtained. |
