Process for the coating of alabaster plates for ornamental purposes, comprising the coating of an alabaster plate (3), which is fixed or not to a wall or surface (1), with a transparent varnish (6), reflecting material (5), coloured pigmentation (4) and a fluorescent coating (2'), with the possibility of substituting the transparent varnish (6) by an oil (7); the plate receives light from an emitter which emits artificial light, black light or ambient light on the front or back face of the alabaster plate (3); the alabaster plate (3) may even be coated with a phosphorescent pigment coating (2) diluted in transparent paint.
