<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte battery having high volume energy density and superior safety. <P>SOLUTION: In the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte, a fine porous layer containing insulating inorganic particles and polyolefin is formed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. It is preferable that the thickness of this layer is 1-10 μm, as a polyolefin, polyethylene having weight-average molecular weight of 500,000 or more is used, and the average particle size of the insulating inorganic particles is 0.1-2.0 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
