<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method which has applicability for high-speed coating, is capable of reducing stripe irregularity upon the start of coating and coating failure and has excellent coating uniformity, and to provide a slot nozzle spray device used therefor. <P>SOLUTION: In the coating method, coating liquid is applied on a body to be coated by using the slot nozzle spray device comprising a coating liquid nozzle which conveys the body to be coated and supplies the coating liquid over a coating width in the direction intersecting the conveyance direction of the body to be coated, and a gas nozzle which ejects gas in proximity to the opening end of the coating liquid nozzle, causes the gas to come into collision with the coating liquid to form droplets and performing spray.
