PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently recover toner on a photoreceptor in the case of stopping image formation by the occurrence of trouble and to prevent the toner from sticking to a transfer member or the like and from scattering. SOLUTION: When image formation is stopped before a toner image T formed on the photoreceptive drum 10 is transferred to an intermediate transfer belt 14, the application of a bias voltage V1 to a roller 14B is stopped, so that the toner image T is removed and cleared away by a cleaner without being transferred to the intermediate transfer belt 14. When the image formation is stopped after the start of the transfer to the intermediate transfer belt 14, the application of the bias voltage V1 to the roller 14B and the application of a bias voltage V2 to a transfer roller 15 are both stopped, so that the toner image T transferred to the intermediate transfer belt 14 is removed and cleared away by the cleaner 140 without being stuck to the transfer roller 15. |
