Flow control for oil in transit

A power transmission has a hydraulic control from which oil is distributed to various transmission components, a cooler (18) and reservoir (12). A flow direction control valve (20) is disposed in the distribution system to direct oil in transit to the reservoir (12) during cold operation and to a transmission lubrication circuit (22) or cooling circuit during normal operating temperatures.
