PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly dye the entire part of fog by using light emitting diodes as a light source and obviating the generation of bands of light by mingling of the light rays from the light source with each other near the light source when the fog is illuminated by using the light source arranged in proximity. SOLUTION: The display device 1 generates the fog in a transparent case 3 of a cylindrical shape and color-codes the fog by irradiating the fog with the light from below. The bottom end of the case 3 is inserted into a base 6 and a cap 9 is put on the top end of the case 3. The peripheral wall 4 of the case 3 is formed of a transparent resin. A partition wall 5 likewise formed of the transparent resin is mounted at the bottom end of the case 3. The partition wall 5 is provided with an ultrasonic atomization unit 2 nearly at its center and the water 8 in the case 3 is atomized by ultrasonic vibration. An RGB-LED irradiation unit 30 is arranged right below the partition wall 5 and the light released therefrom is cast to the fog generated in the case 3 through the partition wall 5 and the water 8.
