PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the resistance of a seal liquid at the time of discharge of ink. SOLUTION: An ink jet recording head 10 has an ink discharge orifice 12 provided on an ink discharge surface, an discharge chamber 16 provided with a discharge means 14, an ink sump 18 for supplying ink to the discharge chamber 16, a seal liquid drawing-in means 24 for drawing in a seal liquid so as to separate the same into the seal liquid 22A positioned at the ink discharge orifice 12 and the seal liquid 22B positioned around the ink discharge orifice 12 and the detection parts 32A1, 32A2 of a seal detection means. The seal liquid judging part 34 of the seal liquid detection means is arranged inside or outside the ink jet recording head 10. That is, the seal liquid detection means is provided with the seal liquid detection parts 32A1, 32A2 and the seal liquid judging part 34. |
