PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the high head loss of a water flow due to the accumulation of dust on a screen. SOLUTION: The screen 10 is integrally mounted on a gate door 2 of a pump gate 1. The screen 10 is formed in a lattice structure to be sufficiently wide corresponding to the width of a water channel 4 to cover the upper part and the front part of a suction port 3a of a pump 3, with its upper end located at the upper end of the gate door 2 and its lower end located apart in front of the suction port 3a of the pump 3. The screen 10 is raised at its lower side up to the height level of the suction port 3a of the pump 3. Even when a great amount of scum is caught on a portion facing the suction port 3a, a water flow can be turned around from other areas.
