PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system having a technology of reducing the time and effort of a user inputting an account again, while maintaining security.SOLUTION: An authentication system includes an authentication switch connected to a network, an authentication switch, an authentication server, a terminal authentication DB, and a user authentication DB. When accessed from a user terminal to log in to the network, the authentication switch transmits a terminal authentication request and a MAC address of the user terminal to the authentication server. The authentication server performs terminal authentication in reference to the terminal authentication DB. When the terminal authentication fails, the authentication switch transmits a user authentication request, an input account, and the MAC address of the user terminal to the authentication server. The authentication server performs user authentication in reference to the user authentication DB. When the user authentication is successful, the authentication server registers the MAC address of the user terminal, as a MAC address for terminal authentication, on the terminal authentication DB.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
