A polarizer (220) for a liquid crystal display panel, and the liquid crystal display panel (200) comprising the polarizer (220). The polarizer (220) comprises a substrate (241) and reflecting film layers (242) formed on the substrate (241) at intervals, wherein the reflecting film layers (242) are corresponding to black matrixes (212) in the liquid crystal display panel (200). The lower surface of the polarizer (220) of the liquid crystal display panel (200) comprises the reflecting film layers (242), the reflecting film layers (242) can reflect part of backlight provided by a backlight module (100) back into the backlight module (100), accordingly the light absorptive amount of the polarizer (220) is reduced, and the backlight utilization rate of the backlight module (100) is increased, thereby reducing energy consumption.
