PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for efficiently manufacturing a hollow material having high quality by easily pulling out an intermediate receiving material as a method for manufacturing the hollow material having the hollow part wherein both frame parts are integrated by mutually butt-welding frame parts of U-shaped in cross section continuing in the longitudinal direction of a pair of long size materials. SOLUTION: Fitting members 4 are respectively placed on the inner surface of butting parts 11 of both side pieces along the butting parts from the inside of a hollow part 20 composed between oppositely arranged frame parts 10 of a pair of long size materials 1. And a bar-like intermediate receiving material 5 having racks 5a along the longitudinal direction is arranged so as to fit to the fitting members 4 between one side of a fitting member 4 and the other side of the fitting member 4, and whereby the rear surfaces of both fitting member 4 are abutted on the material 5 and are supported. The butting parts 11 are bonded by frictional diffusion bonding in this state. Thereafter, the intermediate receiving material 5 is pulled out by meshing pinions 60 with the racks 5a of the intermediate receiving material to rotationally drive the pinions 60.
