<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible for a user to easily remove a medium jammed in an image forming apparatus, and also, to suppress the impact on an image forming apparatus, when a cover is opened. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a fixing unit, equipped with the opening/closing cover; a 1st member and a 2nd member for sandwiching the medium between the members; and a pressing member for pressing the 2nd member against the 1st member; for fixing a developer image on the medium sandwiched between the 1st member and the 2nd member pressurized by the pressing member, in a state where the cover is closed, and also, provided with a connecting member as a member for connecting the cover to the fixing unit, and having a pressure-releasing part for releasing the pressure by the pressure member in cooperation with the cover-opening operation, and a sliding part for sliding on the pressure releasing part cooperatively with the cover-opening operation, after the pressure by the pressing member is released. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
