<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an intake silencer for an internal combustion engine compact and simplify an inner structure thereof by arrangement of two resonance chambers provided in a case. <P>SOLUTION: An air passage P in which air flowing in from an intake inlet Pi and flowing out from a downstream end opening Pe is circulated, and the resonance chambers 84, 85 communicating with the air passage P are provided in the case C of the intake silencer A for the internal combustion engine. The resonance chambers 84, 85 communicates with an upstream passage part 81 which is a part of the air passage P in the vertical direction and comprise a first and a second resonance chambers 84, 85 opposing with the upstream passage part 81 held therebetween. The second resonance chamber 85 is a part of the upstream passage part 81 and constructs a helmholtz type resonance system having air in an opposing passage part 81a opposing to an opening 85a of the second resonance chamber 85 in the vertical direction as mass. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
