PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner, avoiding deterioration due to exposure to the outdoors, and preventing entering of small animals and insects from the outdoors to the interior through a drain mechanism while decreasing the number of parts of a drain hose. SOLUTION: In this indoor unit of the air conditioner, condensed water generated in an indoor heat exchanger 10 is discharged to the outdoors through the drain hoses 6, 7. The indoor unit includes: drain pans 60, 70; drain passages 80, 85; and a small animal entering preventive member 82. The drain pans 6, 7 receive the condensed water generated in the indoor heat exchanger 10. In the drain passages 80, 85, the respective one ends are connected to drain pans 60, 70, and the other ends can be connected to the drain hoses 6, 7. Condensed water collected in the drain pans 60, 70 is guided to the drain hoses 6, 7 put in the connecting state. The small animal entering preventive member 82 is provided in the parts of the drain passages 80, 85, thereby forming resistance to a moving body moving in the direction reversing to the direction of draining the condensated water.
