PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calcium hydroxide agent that is producible at a low cost and has low contents of arsenic, lead, barium, cadmium, mercury, other harmful heavy metals, substances insoluble to hydrochloric acid, and other harmful substances, as impurities, and to provide a production method thereof.SOLUTION: There is provided a calcium hydroxide agent produced by mixing calcium hydroxide derived from limestone and calcium hydroxide derived from scallop shells. The mixing ratio of the calcium hydroxide derived from limestone and the calcium hydroxide derived from scallop shells is set so that the content of harmful substances is a reference content or less and the purity of the calcium hydroxide is 95% or higher, by measuring the content of at least either one of arsenic, lead, barium, and substances insoluble to hydrochloric acid in the calcium hydroxide derived from limestone. In a production method of the calcium hydroxide agent, the calcium hydroxide derived from scallop shells may be added as necessary to reduce a production cost.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
