PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection method etc. capable of stably detecting an object in an infrared ray image.SOLUTION: The detection method includes the steps of: acquiring a piece of information relevant to an environmental temperature as a temperature in a space where an infrared ray image is acquired and a piece of specific information for identifying a temperature of the object (S22, S23); identifying a reference model from plural reference models based on the acquired specific information and environmental temperature (S24); and detecting the object in the infrared ray image using the specified one reference model (S25).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
