PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which an enclosure formed of fire-retardant materials is made as small as possible with mechanical strength.SOLUTION: A printer includes: a casing 20; an image forming part stored in the casing 20; a drive unit 61 for driving the image forming part; and an electrical substrate including a power source substrate 63 or a controller substrate 65. The drive unit 61 and the electrical substrate are aligned and disposed in a lateral direction on the external surface of a rear plate 24 of the casing 20, and stored in the enclosure. Thus, the drive unit 61 and the electrical substrate are aligned and disposed so that the enclosure can be made small. Furthermore, a space is formed adjacently to the image forming part in the casing 20. Thus, any heat source does not exist in this space so that it is not necessary to use fire-retardant materials as the materials of an outer cover covering the periphery of the space. |
