Connection fitting fastening system for corrugated tubes - uses grooved two-part sleeve, outer bush, and upsetting process

The system is for fastening of a connection fitting to the end of a helically or circular corrugated metal tube (1). A divided sleeve (2) with internal grooves corresponding to the corrugations, is fastened to the tube, and is clamped and mechanically fixed by an outer sleeve (3) against a bush (5). The outer sleeve has been previously placed on the tube, and the bush has a shoulder, and a chambered sealing element (4). Some of the corrugations are plastically deformed and upset. The resulting shoulder (7) is non-turnably pressed against the sealing element in the bush. ADVANTAGE - Requires no welding. Can be assembled by unskilled personnel with simple tools.
