FELT MOLDED SOUNDPROOF MATERIAL HAVING EXCELLENT SHAPE-HOLDING PROPERTY

PURPOSE:To provide a felt molded soundproof material following-up and fitting to the shape of a site for the attachment of the soundproof material and remarkably exhibiting an excellent soundproof effect over a wide range including a low frequency range. CONSTITUTION:In stead of a powdery thermosetting resin, phenolic resin, having been used as a binder for conventional felts, a thermoplastic fiber binder is mixed with a felt. At least one surface of the felt is coated with an aqueous solution or emulsion of a thermosetting resin or thermoplastic resin, and the coated felt is press-molded into an arbitrary shape to provide the felt molded soundproof material.
