<p>PURPOSE:To provide a group address processing system in which a multi-cast packet and a single cast packet can be simultaneously handled, and a packet exchange processing can be economically offered with little quality deterioration. CONSTITUTION:This system is equipped with an address classification identifying means 100 which identifies an address classification, holding means 400 which holds a packet, traffic observing means 200 which observes traffic amounts, and judging means 300 which judges whether or not the traffic amounts are beyond a constant value by comparing the traffic amounts with the constant value. Then, in a period in which the judged result is beyond a prescribed value, a processing related with a group address is stopped, the packet is held by the holding means 400, and when the observed traffic is less than the designated value, the processing is resumed.</p> |
