<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coolant control method in a plate rolling mill taking that thermal crown is stably controlled and the shape of a rolled stock is converged at the target shape into consideration. SOLUTION: When the rolled stock 1 is rolled by passing it between a pair of upper and lower work rolls, a coolant is jetted to each of the upper and lower work rolls 3 from many nozzles 5, 6 which are arranged along the roll axial direction. The temp. tw of the work roll 3 is determined by temp. detecting means, the total flow rate of the coolant to be jetted to each of the upper and lower work rolls 3 is controlled so that difference between this temp. tw of the work roll 3 and the temp. tc of the coolant becomes constant and the flow rate of the coolant jetted from each nozzle 5, 6 arranged along the axial direction of roll so as to correct the shape deviation based on the shape deviation of the rolled stock 1 which is detected with a shape detector 18 is controlled.</p> |
