A method of rendering billing statements is provided. Customer data is formatted according to a bill renderer definition format. The bill renderer definition format includes global customer data and individual customer data formatted on a customer billing file (20). Customer bill file (20) is provided to a bill renderer (22), which interprets and renders a series of billing statements (28).
