The warehouse has parallel gutters supported on columns, ridge sections(1) joined to the gutters by bars(2), and panes of glass(8) accommodated between the gutters, ridge sections and bars. Each ridge section has at each side two downwards-sloping flanges(10,11) forming a groove(9) between them. Seen in cross-section, the surfaces(19) of the lowermost flanges towards the warehouse interior are at a smaller angle to the horizontal than is the case with the corresponding surfaces of the remaining flanges. The lowermost flanges can decrease in thickness towards their outer ends, their undersides being typically at between 15 and 17 degree to the horizontal. The flange ends can be rounded with the minimum possible radius, and can form the portions of the ridge section which extend furthest downwards.
|
