The bait hook retaining means for use on an angler's cast line comprises a pivotal latch 8 having a jaw 9 which engages with a bait hook 10 connected with the line 7 through a trace line 11. The latch 8 has an aperture 12 by which it may be located over the cross piece 5a of a spring link of the kind known for attaching a sinker weight to an angler's line. On water impact following the casting operation the end part 14 of the latch is driven upward to pivot around the cross piece 5a and thus releases the bait hook. The latch can be readily attached to an existing spring link or may be integrated with the link. |
