PURPOSE:To obtain a composite sheet having good softness and excellent water resistance, cold resistance and heat resistance by applying an organic solvent solution of polyurethane consisting essentially of a specific polycarbonatediol and polyoxyethylene ether to a fibrous substrate. CONSTITUTION:An organic solvent solution containing a polyurethane elastomer consisting of a diol component containing (A) a polycarbonate based diol containing an alkanediol unit derived from 2-methyl-1,8-octanediol or 1,9- nonanediol and carbonyl unit and (B) polyether based diol consisting of both terminal hydroxy groups-containing polyoxyethylene compound at a weight ratio of 60/40 to 90/10, organic diisocyanate and chain extender (e.g. polyethylene glycol) is applied to a fibrous substrate consisting of a natural fiber and synthetic fiber and the coated substrate is dipped in water and solidified to provide the objective leather-like composite sheet having excellent flexibility, handle and drape property as well as excellent water resistance. |
