PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain the subject bulb by culturing a Sandersonia cultured tissue in a medium mixed with a specific compound. SOLUTION: This Sandersonia bulb is produced by culturing a Sandersonia cultured tissue in a medium mixed with a compound of the formula (R<1> is H or a lower alkyl; R<2> is H or OH) (pref. jasmonic acid or methyl jasmonate). The concentration of the above compound in the medium is Pref. 0.1-10μM. Jasmonic acid has such Physiological activities on plants as germination inhibition, growth inhibition, aging promotion, and greeting inhibition for seeds and pollens, pore divergence inhibition, rooting promotion for adventitious roots and induction of tuber formation; while methyl jasmonate is an ingredient found in jasmine essential oils and has such physiological activities on plants as to be similar to those of Jasmonic acid.
