PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject system enabling plants to be raised in a desert poor in water-holding capacity or reclaimed land of saline-rich seashore. SOLUTION: This plant raising system has such a scheme that the water reserved in a water storage tank 3 is irrigated on respective plants 10 by a sprinkler 2; the water, after irrigated, is allowed to flow down through sand into a container 4 embedded below the plants 10; the water 4c collected in the container 4 is pumped up by a pumping device 7 via water-collecting pipes 5 and a communicating pipe 6, reserved in the water storage tank 3 again, and then reused for irrigation using the sprinkler 2; in this way, because some proportion of the water irrigated once can be recovered and used repeatedly, the storage tank 3 has only to be newly replenished with water equivalent to the quantity of the water absorbed into the plants 10 and evaporated into the air, thereby enabling the amount of water to be replenished to be considerably reduced; therefore, the plants 10 can be adequately raised and the relevant land greened even in the case of e. g. arid desert poor in water-holding capacity. |
