<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the startability of an engine and reduce harmful components in combustion gas even if a fuel leaks from an injector. <P>SOLUTION: An intake valve 44 is assembled in an intake port 42 communicating with a combustion chamber 41, and an intake air is guided to an intake manifold 50 communicating with the intake port 42 through a throttle valve 53. In addition, the injector 54 jetting the fuel is assembled in the intake port 42, and the intake air passing the intake port 42 is guided, in the form of a mixture, into the combustion chamber 41. When the engine 11 is started, a generator motor 20 is driven to crank the engine 11 in such a state that a fuel injection control and an ignition control are stopped. Thus, even if the fuel leaks from the injector 54, an intake system can be filled with fresh air, thereby improving the startability of the engine 11 and reducing the harmful components in the combustion gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
