PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink refilling method which can refill a sufficient amount of ink into an used ink cartridge by work as simply as possible without causing inclusion of bubbles and an ink refilling device for executing the ink refilling method. SOLUTION: In the ink refilling method, an operation for injecting the refilling ink 2 to the internal space of the ink cartridge 4 through an injection port 5 is continuously performed until bubbles are no longer contained in an ink 7 ejected while an excessive ink 7 being ejected through a supply port 6. In the ink refilling device 1, an ink container 3 for holding the refilling ink 2, a pump 8 for injecting the ink 2 to the internal space through the injection port 5 of the ink cartridge 4 and the ink cartridge 4 are connected with pipes 9, 10.
