PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera device capable of taking a picture under more suitable photographic conditions when an area to be photographed is changed. SOLUTION: The video camera device includes a means of moving the area to be photographed in a moving direction input by a second input means at an input moving speed, a means of deciding whether the moving speed input by the second input means is faster than a predetermined value, a means of switching photographic conditions to basic photographic conditions when it is decided that the moving speed input by the second input means is faster than the predetermined value, and a means of maintaining current photographic conditions when it is decided that the moving speed input by the second input means is not faster than the predetermined value.
