PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner in which dust is excellently removed over a wide range of a filtration filter, with no ventilation impaired. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes: a dust collection case having a vertically mounted filtration filter that filters and collects dust contained in an airflow; an electric blower installed downstream in the dust collection case; a dust removing unit interposed between the dust collection case and the electric blower; and a power cord winding device. The filtration filter has a large number of elastic and vertically running pleats for which fibers containing non-woven fabric are solidified, that it has a first dust removing means which flips the pleats at the upper part of the filtration filter from the opposite side of the dust collection face while traversing the higher parts of the pleats, and that it has a second dust removing means which beats the pleats at the lower part of the filtration filter from the downstream to the upstream side.
