摘要 The present invention relates to a safety system of a vehicle and, more specifically, to a method and a device for automatically adjusting the luminance of a tail lamp for a vehicle capable of inducing a driver of a vehicle in back to maintain a safe following distance enabling the driver to anticipate emergencies by warning the driver of the vehicle in back by automatically and gradually adjusting and increasing the luminance of the tail lamp of the vehicle when the vehicle in back approaches within a preset distance when the vehicle drives at a high speed faster than a preset speed at night. To achieve the same, the device for automatically adjusting the luminance of the tail lamp of a vehicle includes: a speed sensor sensing a driving speed of the vehicle wherein a driver or a passenger is riding; a distance sensing unit sensing a distance to the vehicle in back; a tail lamp driving unit starting and finishing an automatic tail lamp luminance adjusting function and automatically adjusting the luminance of the tail lamp; and a control unit measuring a speed of the users vehicle by controlling the speed sensor, measuring the distance to the vehicle in back when the speed of the users vehicle exceeds a preset speed by controlling the distance sensing unit, and automatically adjusting the luminance of the tail lamp when the measured distance to the vehicle in back is within the preset distance by controlling the tail lamp driving unit.
