PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analog electronic timepiece which quickly starts rotation of a hand when an instruction for causing fast forward operation of the hand is received from a user.SOLUTION: An analog electronic timepiece includes: fast-forward control means which causes continuous rotation operation of a stepping motor on the basis of an input operation; speed change control means which changes drive speed of the a stepping motor during fast-forward operation; gap determination means which determines, before starting the fast forward operation, whether a wheel train mechanism has a gap between wheels in a direction of rotation of the fast-forward operation; and gap elimination control means which causes, by the number of steps corresponding to the gap, rotation operation of the stepping motor that provides rotation input to the wheel train mechanism having the gap. If one stepping motor that provides rotation input is used, the gap elimination control means sets the drive speed of the stepping motor to be greater than initial drive speed that is set in advance with respect to fast-forward movement. If multiple stepping motors that provide rotation input are used, the gap elimination control means sets drive speed of at least one of the stepping motors to be greater than the initial drive speed so that all gaps can be eliminated in shorter time than time required for eliminating all gaps using the initial drive speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
