PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of treating an amine compound in a carbon dioxide absorbent, a degraded product thereof or the like simply at a low cost.SOLUTION: There is provide a method for treating a carbon dioxide absorbent in which a solid matter containing an urethane bond or a urea bond is generated by bringing at least one carbon dioxide absorbent represented by OH-R-NR-R-OH or H-NR-R-NR-H and a compound containing two or more isocyanate groups in the molecule into contact with each other.
