Adjusting sprung tongues of frictional coupling diaphragm spring for motor vehicle - by bending tongues on first pressure plate unit to determine flexibility characteristic used to determine forces to be applied to others
摘要
A method of adjusting the sprung tongues (13) of the diaphragm springs (9) of a frictional coupling involves clamping at least one tongue on a first pressure plate unit at a defined distance from the tongue end and stationary w.r.t. a reference plane. The tongue is then deformed by applying a force, the force is removed and the deformation measured. This is repeated with various forces on one or more tongues to determine a flexibility characteristic. The forces applied to the tongues on remaining pressure plate units are derived from the displacements required and the flexibility characteristic. USE/ADVANTAGE - For use with motor vehicle frictional couplings. Suitable for mass prodn. and enables rapid adjustment.
