<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of improving detection accuracy without increasing a detection time of an object. <P>SOLUTION: The same detection object for performing indicated operation is imaged from each different position. Position information is detected indicating an adapted position which is a position of the detection object in a 3-dimensional space of a corresponding point within 2-dimensional areas by stereoscopic matching targetting a 2-dimensional area corresponding to a searching space which is a 3-dimensional space as a space which is narrower than a common area included commonly to each relating to a plurality of pieces of image information outputted from a plurality of imaging means for each outputting image information indicating an image including the detection object and capable of performing the indicated operation (S201).
