PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new optical material with excellent mechanical characteristics and optical properties such as transparency, heat resistance, impact resistance and the like and of a low density and then of a small weight. SOLUTION: The curable resin composition comprises a 1st monomer represented by formula (1) [where X<SB>1</SB>is a 3-20C hydroxyl alkyl group and R is a hydrogen atom or a 1-5C alkyl group], a 2nd monomer represented by formula (2) [where X<SB>2</SB>is a 4-50C cyclic group hydrocarbon and R is the same as above], and a 3rd monomer represented by formula (3) [where Y is -(CH<SB>2</SB>)n-O- or -äCH(-R)CH<SB>2</SB>-O-}n and n is an integer of 1-30].
