PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a tri(secondary alkyl) silane compound. SOLUTION: The tri(secondary alkyl) silane compound useful as a silylation agent, a reductant, a raw material for a tri(secondary alkyl) chlorosilane compound of a chlorosilane type silylation agent, etc., can be produced in a high-yield and with safety by using an industrially practicable reaction of a secondary alkyl Grignard reagent with trichlorosilane. The reaction is carried out by reacting the Grignard reagent expressed by formula (1): R<SP>1</SP>MgX with trichlorosilane in the presence of a copper compound (in the formula R<SP>1</SP>is a 3-10C secondary hydrocarbon group or a cyclic hydrocarbon group; and X is a halogen atom).
