<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where jamming disposal is smoothly performed regardless of the stopping position of paper when jamming occurs on the upstream side of a fixing device. <P>SOLUTION: When jamming occurs inside the image forming apparatus, the stopping position of the paper is detected, and also the paper is forcibly conveyed until a resist sensor 24 is turned off if the leading edge of the paper stops between a photoreceptor drum 5 and the fixing device 15. When the jamming disposal is performed by pulling out the fixing device 15, the leading edge of the paper is held in a fixing nip part between a pair of fixing rollers 16, so that the paper is pulled out to the outside together with the fixing device 15, or even if the leading edge of the paper is not held in the fixing nip part, it largely hangs down from the inside of the apparatus, so that a user easily finds out the paper and easily performs the jamming disposal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
