<p>This invention relates to a composition and method for solidifying hazardous aldehyde spills. According to this invention, acidic solid or liquid formulations of urea and other components is applied to hazardous aldehyde spills. The urea formulations act to polymerize the aldehyde and cause it to solidify. The polymerization reaction also mitigates the hazardous vapors arising from such spills. The resultant product is a solid polymer waste which can be relatively easily disposed of.</p> |
