A clip is provided for securing a sensor to a tubular structure. The clip has a substantially elongated U-shape and is resiliently deformable between a presinstalled and an installed condition. The clip includes two elongated legs, each having an outer end, a middle portion and an inner end. The inner ends of the legs are interconnected by a central arcuate section to thereby define the U-shape and to support the legs with a preinstalled spacing therebetween. The outer ends of each leg have an angular extension thereon, which extends inwardly defining an obtuse angle with respect to the middle portion of the leg to define an inclined surface facing inwardly and downwardly toward the arcuate section. The inclined surface of the angular extension and the inner surface of the middle portion of the legs are configured to receive a tube therein, which is larger in diameter than the predetermined spacing between the elongated legs thereby deforming the clip to its installed condition. The tube and the central arcuate section together define a space smaller in dimension than the external dimension of the sensor. As a result, when force is exerted on the sensor to insert it into the space between the tube and the arcuate section, an upward force is exerted on the tube to thereby cause the tube to move upwardly and exert force on the inclined surface of the angular extension.
|
