PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recording quality, by preventing approach of a recorded material to a gap section formed between a roller for feed and a separating means in a recording and waiting state without causing increase in the number of components and complication of mechanism, and by removing back tension related to the roller for feed. SOLUTION: In this automatic feeder 1 of the recorded material, a return lever 7 takes a third position P3 slightly projected from a first position P1 evacuated completely in the own turning locus without interposing the other member, thereby substantially blocking the gap section formed between the roller 14 for feed and the separating means 15 in the recording and waiting state. The return lever 7 can switch between a normal operation locus where the completely evacuated first position P1 and a completely projecting second position P2 can be taken and a secondary return operation locus where the third position P3 can be taken.
