METHOD FOR RECEIVING A SHORT MESSAGE USING CERTIFIED NUMBER

A method for receiving a short message by using an authentication number is provided to perfectly intercept spam messages by only informing a user of the reception of a short message when the short message contains an authentication number, transmitted to a sender. If the user of a mobile terminal inputs a user command to set an authentication mode(10), the mobile terminal transmits an authentication number to a sender(12). If a short message containing the authentication number is received from the sender(14), the mobile terminal compares the authentication number contained in the received short message with the authentication number transmitted to the sender(16). In case the authentication number contained in the received short message is identical to the authentication number transmitted to the sender, the mobile terminal notifies the user that the short message has been received(18).
