A thermal head and a printing device are provided to print in high speed by increasing physical strength of a glass layer by arranging a reinforcing unit on both sides of a row of a heat generation section of a groove section. A thermal head includes a glass layer(21), a heat generation section(22a), a groove section(26), a first reinforcement section(32), and a protruding section(25). The heat generation section is linearly arranged in parallel with a lengthwise direction of the thermal head. The groove is installed on the glass layer facing a row(22b) of the heat generation section. The first reinforcement section is installed in a lengthwise direction of the groove for reinforcing both sides of the heat generation section. The first reinforcement section is formed by forming the glass layer thicker and is thicker than the protruding section for reinforcing the protruding section.
