The illumination device is integrated into a side lining (3) of the side door, where the illumination device exhibits a number of light sources (6) arranged along the side lining. The illumination device is formed as a strip (8), which is arranged along the side lining in a running manner. A light guide is assigned to each light source, where the light guide runs along the side lining and exhibits a lateral light radiation surface.
