The purpose of the present invention is to protect the communication of a legacy terminal while implementing good communication by making the CCA level of a CCA-variable terminal device variable in an environment in which the CCA-variable terminal device and the legacy terminal device coexist, on the premise of CSMA/CA. A terminal device performs wireless communication with a base station device and is provided with: a reception unit which receives a wireless signal transmitted from the base station device; a CCA-variable channel information processing unit which acquires first CCA-variable channel instruction information included in the wireless signal and including information relating to the range of a CCA level that is available in a certain channel and is used for clear channel assessment; and an upper layer unit which, on the basis of the first CCA-variable channel instruction information, selects a channel to be used. |
